My daughters, ages 2 and 4, love these Zhu Zhu hamsters. They are so cute to watch. Lots of fun with absolutely no mess. They are waiting for more accessories to build their dream hamster city. Well worth every penny.

We bought this set for our seven year old grandchild. She loves it! It has a really cute hamster that can do all sorts of amazing things! It was nice to have the starter house and the hamster all in one. It is worth the extra price and is hard to find in the stores even before the big hamster craze so this saves you a bunch of frustrated empty handed shopping trips!
Rate the toy, not the price

These toys are great! They make my 4-yr old and his friends happy! They laugh so hard sometimes playing with them! It is what they say "a pet without the mess." Yes, sometimes you have to give them a nudge in their hamster toys, but the kids don't care. People should not be allowed to rate these items UNLESS THEY HAVE THE TOY. Imagine if you created these toys and they got so popular so quickly that Demand was greater than the Supply? They didn't know this was going to happen. Would you want someone giving your product one star because they are whining about the price of it? Don't rate something unless you own it!

My niece is 4 years old. I gave her two pieces of the Zhu Zhus for Christmas - she LOVES it. After doing the real hamster thing, I DO TOO! 2 months later, she still plays with it.
Get Over It!!!

Get over it people!!! It's called supply & demand. If it doesn't sell on Amazon it will sell on Ebay for those prices. And when the supply catches up to the demand, the price will drop. Some people will pay for the convenience of getting something without having to get trampled on black friday or having to call their local retail store every single day to see if it is in stock. I bought mine for an inflated price and my kid loves it. And so be it. Be happy that you were lucky enough to get it at a regular retail price and stop bashing a good product for no reason.
IF you don't like the price, don't buy!

It's so funny to me that you people would actually get mad over this. It's no different than the 80's when cabbage patch kids were sold out. My mom had to get mine from 3 states away! With the internet at least it's possible to get what you want without having to drive all over creation hoping you can get your hands on one. I'd much rather pay extra and guarantee my kid will have it under the tree. If you don't want to spend more, fine but don't knock people who sell it when there are buyers to support it.

I am disabled. Always shop for my sweet grandchildren on line @ amazon.com Today I am very disappointed and depressed. Ordered the Zhu Zhu hamster and starter house set for my grand daughters birthday. Thought it was a high price I couldn't afford but wanted to get her something she wanted for her birhday. [...] I could have bought her several things w/this outrageous price including the set @ Walmart. We really need internet police if Amazon is going to allow this type thing to happen to rip off the elderly and disabled. I am checking on return policies. It is unfortunate that some company owners can do this and still sleep at night.

Someone on here said they'd rather pay too much than drive all over the place to get one? well.....
The mark up on these is ridiculous, the company who makes them don't benefiting from that either, they sell to the retailers and the retailer screw the consumer because they know they can.
Isn't it the same as driving all over creation when you're willing to pay over $40 more for something just because it's hard to find right now? I'd rather wait till after Christmas and take the kids shopping with their gift cards and they can pick one out for 8-10 dollars.
It's the same every year, the media hypes up some toy as the best and people go nuts trying to get them while retailers take advantage of the customers. People will break themselves to get the best toy ever that will be back on the shelves for half the price or less just after xmas. Like the Wii, xbox 360, cabbage patch, power rangers etc. I bet people who spent 500. on a wii are regretting not waiting and paying 199. The Xbox was selling all over Ebay for 1000. and more, ridiculous.
I want to get these zhu zhu pets for my kids too, but I'm not willing to pay the over inflated prices that Amazon allows these 3rd party companies to charge.
Bottom line is most kids are happy to open lots of gifts, they won't miss the most popular toy because it's mostly the parents that want to make sure their kids get these. The worst part is that many of the "toys of the year" will end up in the corner of the room within a week, ignored. |
