| I bought this ball for my daughter for Christmas when I was lucky enough to find it at my local Meijer store back in September. After reading many negative reviews of this ball, I decided to get all of her Zhu Zhu items ready for Santas arrival and put it all together. The ball went together very easily by following the directions and stayed together. Hamsters work great in it. I have no problems with the ball at all or with the hamster stabilizer bar. Ours works great and is probably my favorite of all accessories! As it was rolling, my dog was going crazy barking at this little hamster rolling this ball all over our living room. I know my daughter will love it. I also have the fun house, starter set and all add ons and they go together very easily and stay together well if you just follow the directions when assembling. They also came apart so I could easily store it all before Santa comes. I know she will love it! |
Cute and fun toy to add to the hamster.

Ok I admit I spoil my kids! When they see these ZHU ZHU PETS on TV, they of course want them and I cave and off we go looking LITERALLY ALL OVER TOWN TRYING TO FIND THEM! We must have went to 8-10 stores and have YET TO FIND AN ACTUAL ZHU ZHU PET HAMSTER! Most stores don't even have an empty rack as they must not be carrying them yet! And three of the stores were Toyrus and each one said they can't keep them on the shelves.
Six Hours Later, We did finally find one lone ADVENTURE BALL for which we now have with no Zhu Zhu pet yet! But we did try it out with the neighbors Zhu Zhu Hamster and it is Hilarious as it acts like a Real Hamster in The Adventure Ball. So as I always do whether it's Bakugan, Littlest Pet Shop, Star Wars, Barbie, and now Zhu Zhu Pets I end up WASTING TONS of TIME and GAS MONEY trying to find them at Multiple Stores when I should have Just Paid A Little Extra and Had them Shipped Right To my Door by Buying them off Amazon...Oh well, Live and Learn I Guess! |

My boyfriend walked in the other day with a "surprise" for me. Lo and behold the Wal-mart by his workplace had these in stock so I guess I get to review something besides the hamsters. :D
First off the ball isn't the sturdiest and with a bit of pressure to the right area you can pop off the lid, it screws right back on though. Also if the batteries are low it won't run too well so change them first.
they give you a stability plate with the hamster, but honestly I found that it moved better and flipped over less without it. It moves like you'd expect, bumbles around, pauses then runs some more, it's cute I have to admit, but the sounds are dampened by the ball. It kind of sounds like it's in a tin can. Every now and then it may flip over in the ball, though nudge it and it's quickly corrected.
If you already have the hamsters it's probably worth the extra ten dollars to get the ball. I wouldn't buy it at any marked up price but it is cute and functions as well as expected. Just keep it away from dogs. Mine has launched a war against this thing. |

| I bought this for my 8 year old daughter for Xmass. I tried it out this morning as I was concerned about the reviews I read on it. I think that this toy is well worth the retail price. I would not pay the inflated prices but that is just me. I read the directions and put the ball together the way they said and I had no problems with it staying together. I also put the stabilizer piece on the bottom of the hamster which the directions recommended. The hamster was rolling all over the floor. It did flip over a couple of times but was either able to right itself or I just had to nudge it with my foot. Overall, I think it is a fun toy worth the retail price. |
Having fun with hamsters, but without the mess

I've bought this as a Christmas present for someone who keeps saying he wants a hamster, but in reality will never look after one. And I have to say this is one of the funniest things I've seen in a really long time.
The ball is a little fiddly to put together, but once that hammie gets going it's as believable as the real thing. If it bangs into a wall or object, the pet makes a noise, turns himself around and sets off again.
Hours of fun without the smell, mess and food of a real hamster.
I can see why this has become the 'must-have' Christmas toy. |

I bought this for my granddaughter. She adores it and her mother does, too. Imagine having a hamster - with no cages to clean, nothing that runs during the night, and no food -- if you don't count batteries.
At this point we're not sure how long it will last. She's six now and probably her interest span is at most six months. Who knows, though, she may graduate to real live hamsters and become a vet?

Be careful who you are buying from. Realize that Amazon isn't the one charging these prices. It is the sellers. Definitely do your homework because in some cases the sellers are charging 3xs the retail value for these toys simply because they are popular. I personally do not think Amazon should allow such sellers because it does turn people off to this site and if they are legit sellers they really do not need to be taking advantage of people.
Great toy. Wait it out and you'll get one for ten dollars or less. |
