Although this is perhaps one of the slower Power Wheels products, it is specifically aimed at the younger girls and boy Barbie fans and so the speed limits are intentional.  For extra safety on any ride on toy, it is always recommended that your child wear a safety helmet to fully protect her and allow her to fully enjoy her Trail Rider touring!

There are several Barbie Power Wheels choices available today and I think that many of the parent review comments negatively criticize the slow speed of this Barbie Trail Rider model.  This particular model is specifically aimed at the very youngest of children where safe fun is key and not extreme speeds.  So many parents simply have not done their basic research before buying this particular Power Wheels version and most of the negative comments are, therefore, undeserved.  As a result, the mid range overall rating does not do this ride on vehicle justice.

This vehicle is aimed at children between 12 and 36 months of age, with the corresponding low weight levels and by design focused towards girls.  In reality if you are buying the Barbie Trail Rider for your 6 year old son, at four times the weight of a 3 year old girl, then yes, it will move slower and have greater difficulty getting up steep slopes and will not provide your son with the speed thrills that boys love so much.
