Review

The popularity of Fisher Price TRIO is growing at an ever increasing rate as more and more parents discover the advantages of these sets compared with the limited, more expensive and less practical choices traditionally brick only building sets offer.

TRIO By Fisher Price

The whole of the TRIO range of blocks, building sets and accessories was really inspired as an imaginative construction product that had greater variety of themes and stayed together long after building.

All of the pieces in each set, unlike many brick based building set brands, can be used with any other TRIO product.

TRIO pieces are completely compatible with any TRIO set or accessory and the common snap fittings work across the range allowing your child to make the most of each set they get long into the future.

Fisher Price TRIO Blocks

More traditional building blocks still make up a large chunk of each building set that you buy.

As before, your child snaps these together to form a variety of shapes and designs.

The main differences and benefits of Fisher Price TRIO Blocks is that unlike LEGO bricks, they actually stay together better, even when moved around and played with more energetically by some children.

The blocks themselves are well designed specifically for the intended age group as well as being incredibly strong.

Fisher Price TRIO Building Set

The bulk of TRIO products that are sold are the Fisher Price TRIO Building Sets.

These sets are really what make TRIO stand out from the crowd.

Each Fisher Price Trio Set usually comprises of your standard TRIO blocks, TRIO panels and sticks as well as one or two themed characters.

For those older parents out there (like me!) I think they are best described as an imaginative and creative cross between traditional LEGO brick sets and Mechano sets, although the latest Lego sets are now more themed and contain additional building items to build the final design.

Each Fisher Price TRIO Building Set is based on a specific theme, such as the ever popular Batman bat cave, the King’s Warship or a fun imaginative vehicle of some sort.

The set includes instructions for building the featured design, as well as often instructions for building a few alternative designs also based on the same theme and using the same parts that come with the building set.

From Construction Fun To Lasting TRIO Toy

This is one of the great benefits of the whole of the TRIO range.

Kids love to go through the actual construction phase of putting all or some of the pieces together to eventually build their final design.

However, where the TRIO sets excel is that once built, the finished design can then be used as a standard pretend play toy.

The fact that TRIO toys don’t fall apart when kids play with them really makes this a practical advantage.

Most building block and brick sets simply don’t hold up to the strains and bumps of children using the final design as a toy afterwards.

Encourages Greater Thinking and Imagination

Standard block construction sets are great at forcing children to think on a one dimensional level as to where to fit the next brick.

TRIO Fisher Price sets and blocks force imaginative thinking on a three dimensional level.

Children not only have to work out where to snap on each piece, but also which specific piece fits, almost like a LEGO / jigsaw hybrid.

Each set has been cleverly designed to not only allow your child to build the recommended design, but also provide enough pieces in the set that are so varied that your child soon starts to become creative and build designs of their own inspired by some of the vivid pieces that are included.

TRIO Accessories

As well as blocks and sets, there is a whole range of accessories that you can pick up to complement ant theme that your child may have going on.

These accessories may vary from characters to vehicles to buildings.

From a parents perspective, these additions are really cheap to pick up so adding to a pre-purchased set doesn’t end up costing you an arm and a leg.
